Kealetile’s appointment is aimed at filling the post, which fell vacant following the retirement of of Kgosi Bringle Dithapo.
The appointment comes after Tawana himself returned for his throne few months ago after an almost two-decade period in the political field. While pursuing his political career Kealetile was holding fort for his brother since 2003 until recently when she made way for his return.
“After taking this decision I passed it through my uncles and Basimane ba Kgosi for advice who gave it a go ahead. I am now passing it to Morafe to get their views,” Tawana told his tribe during a consultative kgotla meeting.
In response majority of Batawana welcomed the decision and expressed their delight to have Kealetile returning to the Kgotla.
