By the time of going to print, the floodwaters would have reached the popular Old Matlapana Bridge’s Hippo pool in the Thamalakane River. This as it may, the excitement over the arrival of the floods started when the flood’s tongue first reached the confluence of the Boro and Thamalakane Rivers in Matlapana a week ago. On reaching the junction, the flood first backfilled the Thamalakane north east wards, and it was only early this week that it began flowing down Thamalakane River southwards into central Maun. Since the arrival of the flood, the river front has come to life – with the usual crowds congregating ko Beach – at the junction!
