South African award winning DJ, Kabelo Motsamai who goes by the stage name Prince Kaybee will headline the first annual ‘Hunters Maun Picnic’ billed for next week Saturday at Lunar Gardens.

Presented by Monate Fela Promotions, the event which is one of the festive season openers will start in the afternoon breaking the norm of similar festivals known to start late at night. Gates are to be opened from 12 noon with performances starting around that time till late to cater for those who love afternoon festivals and the night crawlers as well.

The Monate Fela founder Easy B Sesupo told The Weekender that they are bringing a daytime music festival for the first time in Maun which will be in a picnic set up attracting both daytime and night revelers.

He noted that normally events and music festival are held at night though there are people who do not like staying out till late which is why they have decided to cater for them as well this time. Sesupo added the idea is to also allow revelers to mingle during the day when they can clearly see each other and network properly.

“There is no specific theme color for the event but the idea is to have a music festival where all will be dressed so well and making the place all colorful,” he said advising revelers to bring their own camp chairs and picnic towels.

Sesupo further said since it will be for the first time they host such an event, they are looking forward to a positive response and if they do get it then they will be encouraged to bring more of such similar events in the near future.

The festival will feature local Djs including, Casper the DJ, Teaz, Bunny, Easy B, Cue, Le Spoonerdj, Swag kids, Endiyo, Leon, DistilleD, Bik, Skint, Miles and Zaze with Hey Nyennah as the host. Organisers has revealed that there will also be a surprise act performance by a local artist from Maun, the idea being to support artists from the area.

A P100 ticket is currently available for the early birds and the standard tickets will be sold at P150 while the VIP one comprising of goodies will cost P700. The tickets are available at Webtickets and selected Spars and Choppies outlets.
