…in Somelo, a 23-year-old woman allegedly kills uncle aged 48
The three men linked to the recent suspected murder of a 39-year-old man of Boseja-Kubung in Maun have been arrested are set to be arraigned before the Maun Magistrate’s Court for the offence.
The deceased is alleged to have been murdered and his body dumped behind shops in Maun’s Old Mall where it was found lying motionless.
This has been confirmed by Maun Police Assistant Superintendent Jeremiah Mashila, who highlighted that the incident took place during the night of April 4th into the morning of April 5th, citing the period between 1800hrs and 0630hrs.
After being alerted about the incident, police rushed to the scene where they took the deceased to Letsholathebe II Memorial Hospital where he was certified dead upon arrival.
Superintendent Mashila said they are still investigating the matter to establish what could have really happened to the deceased and how his body could have gotten to where it was found. Police have since pleaded with the public to come forth if they have any information regarding the incident as it could help with their investigations.
In another incident, Maun police have also registered a murder incident in which a 23-year-old woman is suspected to have murdered her 48 year old uncle following a drinking spree.
Confirming the incident Assistant Superintendent Mashila stated that the incident took place in Somelo on Sunday. According to him, the deceased, who is believed to be suspected woman’s uncle got into a fight following a drinking spree after he reportedly assaulted the niece.
The Assistant Superintendent further revealed that the 23-year-old then left and went, whereupon the deceased followed her to her home in possession of a metal rod. Upon arrival the deceased is said to have started harassing the suspect, banging on the door with the metal rod and calling her out. The suspect’s boyfriend is said to have tried to intervene by talking to both the suspect and deceased but he failed to calm the situation down.
Mashila said the accused person reportedly then came out of the house and hit the deceased with a metal rod once and he fell to the ground and started bleeding from the mouth.
He said police then rushed to the scene where they found the deceased lying on the ground and transported him to Letsholathebe Il Memorial Hospital where he was certified dead by a medical doctor upon arrival.
