Date:

Investigations into the horrendous incident in which a woman was murdered in cold blood while her partner was left in a critical condition in Maun on Tuesday night are still ongoing. The suspect in the gruesome act, which has left residents of Maun’s Boseja ward reeling in shock is the deceased’s ex-lover who has since been arrested.

Maun Police Station Assistant Superintendent Michael Bagai, confirmed that Police were investigating the case. He revealed that the deceased is a 41year old woman of Boseja ward in Maun.

According to Bagai, the incident is said to have occurred between 2300hrs on Tuesday night and 0100hrs of Wednesday morning and was reported to the police by the deceased’s younger sister who is aged 34 at around 0200hrs early Wednesday morning.

According to Bagai, the sister narrated that she was informed by her 18-year-old daughter that something had happened at her aunt’s house. Upon arrival, the deceased’s sister is said to have found blood flowing beneath the door and saw the deceased and her lover lying on the floor when she opened the door.

On receiving the report, he said the police immediately rushed to the scene immediately where they found the two victims lying in cold blood in the deceased’s house. Bagai further stated that the 41-year-old woman was found with fatal head injuries, while her partner was found with injuries all over his body. According to the assistant superintendent, the two were rushed to Letsholathebe II Memorial Hospital where the deceased was certified dead.

The partner to the deceased who has not yet been identified by his family is said to be in a critical condition and has been hospitalised at Letsholathebe II Memorial Hospital. Bagai further encouraged the public not to bottle up issues, but speak up if they have any problems instead of resorting to violence. He said people have been exhibiting frightening lack of anger control adding that most of the passion killings occur as a result of petty issues and insecurity amongst partners that could have been avoided if people could consider talking things out when troubled.
