Matjimenyenga Boys Are Back In The Premier League!

Tafic FC was this past weekend crowned first division north champions after walloping Motlakase Power Dynamos by a goal to nil to move their points to 45 points with a game left before end of the season.

It is now left for the Matjimenyenga Boys to switch their focus to the new challenge of the Botswana Football League (BFL) next season.

“Undipe ndi kupe” as they are popularly called, will possibly end the season with 48 points should they win their remaining home game against Peacemakers.

The team’s public relations officer Kabelo Dipholo told Times Sport that they are ready and prepared for the elite league next season adding that they are welcoming all on board to support the team as they return to the premier league.

Dipholo further revealed that the executive and the technical team are very united and has one goal which is to stay in the premier league at least for the first season before they dream to fight for the premier league trophy.

He indicated that the morale of the team is high adding that the support is also of high regard as their sponsors has taken all the team’s responsibility to make sure everything is available for them next season.

Meanwhile it is now left to see who will go for the play-offs between BR Highlanders and Chadibe. Chadibe is placed third with 37 points while BR Highlanders is second with 39 points and the two will face each other tomorrow at Railway Grounds.

At the bottom of the table is Green Lovers and Rolling Guys with 22 and 15 points respectively and Green Lovers still has chance to survive relegation should they win their match against Santa Green tomorrow and finish in the top eight with 25 points. Miscellaneous, Sankoyo and Peacemakers are all bound for relegation should they lose tomorrow’s games.

Sankoyo Bush Bucks Assistant Coach Paphani Likha told Times Sport that they are doing all they can to make sure they win their game against Calendar Stars especially now that they are home. Likha indicated that their aim is to finish in the top 8 with 25 points.

Sankoyo will welcome Calendar Stars at Maun Sports Complex. Santa Green takes on Green Lovers at Pekenene JSS Gounds while Rolling Guys will face Miscellaneous at Masilo Grounds.

Tomorrow, Tafic travels to Samabaje grounds to meet Peacemakers while Motlakase welcomes Mbalakalungu at Oris Radipotsane grounds. All games start at 1500hrs.
