A packed Maun Kgotla on Monday witnessed a peaceful transition of the royal duties from Kgosi Kealetile Moremi, to her brother Kgosikgolo Tawana Moremi 11 who has come back for his throne after almost two-decade period in the political field.

Their Uncle Kgosi Charles Letsholathebe, reminded the Morafe that when Kgosi Tawana left office and went into politics, he consulted adequately with his Uncles and other DiKgosi, who together with the Morafe gave him their blessings.

Letsholathebe said the same spirit of consultation prevailed when Kgosi Tawana felt it was time to retrace his steps back to the throne, hence the peaceful transition and transfer that was witnessed on Monday which he said was not alien to the Batawana Chieftainship.

Letsholathebe further advised Tawana to avail himself to his people at all times and make sure he finds time to facilitate some of the cases at his Kgotla so that they feel his presence.

Letsholathebe said he was happy that Tawana has finally acceded to his plea for him to return to office.

In his acceptance speech, Tawana Moremi promised Batawana that he will rule them without discrimination. He said he will carry on from where he left in 2003 adding that he will be available for all, at all times as and when needed.

Tawana also reminded the Morafe that there has never been any doubt that one day he would come back to his throne, as he had consulted them on his temporary detour into politics.

Maun West Member of Parliament, Dumelang Saleshando said Kgosi Tawana comes back to the throne, wiser and more experienced on issues of governance and general knowledge of the government system. He said this will allow him to serve his Morafe well.
