The Prayer Life Revival Ministry has donated food hampers and blankets to 50 underprivileged families in Shashe ward.
The timely donation provides immediate relief from hardship, winter cold, and food insecurity for the vulnerable beneficiaries.
This intervention answers a direct plea from Kgosi Prince Shashe, who reached out to church leadership last year to assist his struggling community.
Receiving the donation over the weekend, Kgosi Shashe highlighted that the ward suffers from high poverty, unemployment, and youth crime.
Describing the situation as disheartening, the tribal leader noted that over half the population lives in poverty. He warned that youth alcoholism and drug addiction are rising, calling on residents and the church to unite in prayer against these social ills.
Shashe commended the ministry, stating that by giving back, they are practicing what they preach. He noted it is rare for an organisation to assist an area outside its immediate jurisdiction, as most prefer to support communities where they operate.
Prayer Life Revival Ministry leader Prophet Aubrey Ndwapi apologised for the delay, explaining the initiative was planned for last year but was set back by prior commitments.
Ndwapi emphasized that scripture commands Christians to love, give, and support the vulnerable.
“We felt blessed enough to bless others. We love to share the little we have, especially with the elderly who lack the strength to work or fend for themselves,” Ndwapi said.
Responding to Kgosi Shashe, the Prophet agreed that prayer and unity are vital to defeating substance abuse and crime, urging the community to embrace spiritual solutions.
Furthermore, he encouraged beneficiaries to view the gesture as an inspiration to help others, noting that support can be emotional, mental, or psychological rather than purely material.
Closing the event, Ndwapi pledged the ministry’s long-term, ongoing support for the Shashe community.
