Chobe Impact has recognised three teachers from Nxamasere Primary School for their exceptional contribution to the school’s 2025 Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) results.
Chobe Impact, the corporate social investment arm of Chobe Holdings Limited, hosted an appreciation ceremony at Nxamasere Island Lodge. In the presence of colleagues, education authorities, and village leadership, the teachers were awarded certificates and tokens of appreciation for their dedication.
The ceremony celebrated the educators after Nxamasere Primary School achieved a remarkable 12.4% “value addition” to its pass rate. The school’s performance climbed from a 65.5% pass rate in 2024 to 77.9% in the 2025 results.
The three honoured teachers are Thato Kennetswe, for contributing to a 17% improvement; Masego Tabona, for a 9.7% improvement; and Kewame Kwarefo, for maintaining a 72% pass rate in the 2025 results.
Chobe Impact Manager, Ibo Madandume, highlighted that education is a primary investment area for the organisation, aimed at directly impacting student learning. He noted that the education sector currently faces numerous challenges that, if left unaddressed, negatively affect student performance.
While many expect corporate support to focus on infrastructure, Madandume argued that focusing on those who directly manage the learning process yields “low-hanging fruit.” He posited that empowering teachers to improve the learning environment has a direct bearing on academic success.
Shakawe Region Chief Education Officer, Gagoope Andrek, described the event as a landmark occasion. He praised the teachers for their “good deeds,” thanked Chobe Holdings Limited for its generosity, and commended the school’s leadership.
He further emphasised the importance of recognising excellence as a morale booster. “If we do not recognise excellence, we are definitely calling for mediocrity,” he stated, adding that excellence is what separates top performers from the rest.
Nxamasere Primary School Head, Emang Phadime, expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from Chobe Impact, noting that the partnership has produced tangible improvements in PSLE results. With continued support from the organisation and village leadership, Phadime expressed confidence that this year’s results will surpass the 77.9% mark.
Nxamasere Primary is one of several schools in the North West and Okavango regions adopted by Chobe Impact under the government’s “Adopt-a-School” initiative. This partnership focuses on providing essential learning resources and infrastructure to improve academic outcomes in communities where Chobe Holdings subsidiaries operate.
