  • and looks ahead to the Season

Ross Branch’s 2025 Dakar Rally journey was an emotional rollercoaster. He started strong, claiming a podium finish in the opening stage, but his campaign came to an abrupt halt after a crash on Stage 6 while battling for the overall podium. Despite the setback, Branch remains optimistic and focused on the challenges ahead.

“The strategy was working out really well,” Branch shared. “Unfortunately, in racing, there’s always a risk of crashing. But I was really happy with the way things were going.” His performance early in the rally has given him confidence as he looks to future races, determined to build on the lessons learned.

Recovery is now a top priority for Branch, who has a dedicated team of medical professionals aiding his return to full fitness. “I’m recovering well,” he said. “I have a good team working closely with me so I can get back on the bike as soon as possible.”

Branch’s 2025 calendar is packed with promising opportunities. He is set to compete in the second round of the World Championship in Abu Dhabi in just under a month, pending his recovery. “I’m super excited for the season,” he said. “Round three is in South Africa, and I’m really looking forward to racing there. Then it is on to the European rounds.”

Before his Dakar exit, Branch felt his training program was on point. “We had a really good program in place,” he explained. “In 2025, I will stick to what worked last year while focusing on minimising mistakes.” Branch also emphasised the importance of improving his navigation skills. “I think the guys are doing really well at navigating and opening the road. That is an area I will be focusing on to be better prepared.”

With a contract to race for Hero Motorsport until 2026, Branch remains laser-focused on his ambitions. “I would love to win another championship, and the ultimate goal is to win Dakar soon,” he declared. His determination to reach the top of rally racing remains unwavering.

Branch is grateful for the unwavering support he receives from his legion of fans. “The love and support have been amazing,” he said. “When I’m racing, the messages of encouragement give me so much motivation to succeed.” To aspiring riders dreaming of Dakar, Branch offers simple yet powerful advice: “Never give up on your dreams. If it’s what you truly want, focus on it and give everything you have to get there. Just reaching the start of Dakar is an incredible achievement.”

As Ross Branch gears up for the rest of the 2025 racing season, his resilience and determination remain an inspiration to many, cementing his place as one of the greats to wave the blue, black and white.
